1. Complete your Customs Declaration
You’ll need to complete your Indonesia Customs Declaration prior to your arrival. Ensure you save the QR code as you will need to show this on arrival in Bali.
2. Check your visa requirements
You may be eligible to apply for a tourist visa on arrival at some airports including Bali, if travelling for tourist purposes or government related activities. Certain passport holders can pre-apply for their visa on arrival online via the e-VOA website. If you are not eligible for an e-VOA, you can apply for this on arrival in Bali.
If you are not eligible for Visa on Arrival, ensure you apply for your visa online prior to your departure to Indonesia.
Travellers must have:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date
- Visitors must hold return/onward tickets
3. Pay your Tourist Levy
From 14 February 2024, international tourists will need to pay a Tourist Levy of IDR 150,000 per person, before entering Bali. The Tourist Levy is in addition to any visa requirements and fees for entry to Indonesia.
Tourists are encouraged to make payment online on the Love Bali website or via the Love Bali App, to ease the process on arrival. However, if online payment can’t be made, payment of the levy can be made when arriving at the airport. Once payment of the levy has been made, a levy voucher will be issued in the form of a QR code, and this must be presented on arrival in Bali.
Certain travellers are exempt from paying the levy. An application for exemption may be required at least 5 days prior to travel, which can be submitted on the Love Bali website.
For further information about the Tourist Levy or exemption application process, visit the Love Bali website here.
Autogates
Indonesia Immigration are trialling the use of Autogates on arrival for all passport holders. To participate in the trial, travellers must have an electronic passport (with the chip symbol on the front), have an approved e-VOA, e-Visa or BVK visa exemption (all of which can be applied for on The Official eVisa website for Indonesia (imigrasi.go.id)) and be over 14 years of age. If you don’t meet the Autogate conditions, or choose not to use it, you can still apply for your visa on arrival if eligible and use the standard Immigration lines on arrival.
