Choose from a range of payment options when booking flights and travel extras with Virgin Australia. The payment options available to you may vary depending on your booking, currency, departure country and the device you’re using.

Information regardingFrom 1 October 2026, Virgin Australia will not apply a payment surcharge to any payment method.

Cards

Use an eligible credit or debit card. The card types shown at checkout are the card types available for your booking.

Credit and debit cards

Pay securely using an accepted card at checkout.

How to pay

1. Select credit or debit card at checkout.

2. Enter your card details and billing information.

3. Complete any verification requested by your card issuer.

Digital wallets

Use a supported digital wallet to pay with an eligible card or linked payment method without entering the card details each time.

PayPal

Pay using a linked card, bank account or PayPal balance.

How to pay

1. Select PayPal at checkout.

2. Log in to your PayPal account or create an account.

3. Select your preferred funding source and confirm your payment.

Apple Pay

Pay with an eligible card saved to your Apple Wallet.

On iPhone, iPad or a compatible Mac

1. Select Apple Pay at checkout.

2. Review your payment details.

3. Confirm using Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.

Available on supported devices and browsers

On desktop or another supported browser

1. Select Apple Pay. A code will appear on screen.

2. Scan the code using the camera on your compatible iPhone or iPad.

3. Review the payment on your device and confirm.

Google Pay

Pay using an eligible card saved to your Google Wallet.

How to pay

1. Select Google Pay at checkout.

2. Choose your saved payment method.

3. Review and confirm your payment.

Card issuer charges

Charges from your card issuer may still apply under your card agreement with them. Check with your card issuer for details.

Bank payments

Pay directly from an eligible bank account using the bank-payment options available for your market.

PayID

Pay for eligible bookings in Australian dollars from an Australian bank account.

How to pay

1. Select PayID at checkout.

2. Follow the payment instructions provided.

3. Complete the payment using your internet or mobile banking.

4. Return to your booking when prompted.

Transactions in $AUD currency

Outbound flight must depart from an Australian city/town

POLi

Pay from an eligible New Zealand personal bank account using internet banking.

How to pay

1. Select your internet banking provider and log in.

2. Choose your bank account and confirm the payment details.

3. Complete the payment and log out of internet banking.

4. Your Virgin Australia booking will then be generated.

New Zealand bank account only

Outbound flight must depart from New Zealand

Buy now, pay later

Choose an eligible provider at checkout and repay the provider under the payment plan you agree with them.

PayPal Pay in 4

How to pay

1. Select PayPal at checkout and log in or create an account.

2. If eligible, choose Pay in 4.

3. Review the payment schedule and confirm.

4. If approved, you will be redirected back to the Virgin Australia

website and provided with your booking number.

How to pay

Select ZIP at checkout and log in or create an account.
Confirm your repayment schedule.
If approved, you will be redirected back to the Virgin Australia website and provided with your booking number.

Travel credit & Velocity Points

Use an eligible Virgin Australia travel credit or redeem Velocity Points when the option is available for your booking.

Travel Bank

Use available Travel Bank funds to pay entirely or partially for Eligible Travel which is made available for purchase by Virgin Australia.

How to pay

1. Select Travel Bank on the payment page.

2. Log in using your Travel Bank username.

3. Choose the amount you want to apply and complete your booking.

Velocity Points

Pay with Velocity Points, or use a combination of Points plus an eligible payment method where available.

How to pay

1. Log in to your Velocity account during the booking process.

2. Select the available Points payment option.

3. Review the Points amount and any remaining cash component (if relevant), then confirm.
