Home to fine wine, gourmet food, beautiful accommodation, and outstanding events, the Hunter Valley offers a taste of the good life.

Wine lovers are catered to by way of 150 wineries, vineyards and cellar doors. Notable identities include: Brokenwood Wines, famous for its Graveyard Shiraz; Pepper Tree, renowned for its cellar door experience; and Scarborough, a family of winemakers with Chardonnay in their DNA.

Foodies are indulged with some of the best regional dining in New South Wales, as experienced through a plethora of restaurants—with more than 65 to choose from. Esteemed local restaurants include Robert Restaurant at Tower Estate, Muse Dining at Hungerford Hill Wines and Maitland’s The Old George and Dragon.

The region’s rich food growing reputation can also be discovered via a number of cooking schools, farm gate stalls, markets, and specialist providores such as Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop, Binnorie Dairy, Morpeth Sourdough, Hunter Belle Cheese and Pukara Estate's olive oils.

Autumn is a spectacular time of the year to visit the region, as the countryside ignites with warm orange-red hues; the days are balmy and the evenings are crisp; and vineyards hosts some of the year’s most anticipated events.
