Guests travelling to Australia should also check the government requirements of their departure country to ensure that they meet the exit travel requirements. 

Contact tracing

Contact tracing allows government officials to quickly identify and trace people as part of the response to COVID-19. It's an important step to help stop the spread and keep ourselves and each other healthy.

It is now a requirement that all guests traveling with Virgin Australia supply their email address, phone number and postcode for contact tracing. Please supply these details prior to your journey with us via our contact tracing form.

International travel to and from Australia

Virgin Australia will only carry guests travelling on international flights, who are:

  • Fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved or recognised by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA); or
  • are under the age of 12 at the time of departure; or
  • an Australian child aged between 12 and 17 at the time of departure who is:
    • either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated; and
    • entering Australia through New South Wales, Victoria or the ACT; and
    • traveling with their fully vaccinated parents or guardian; or
  • cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons (with approved evidence and subject to state and territory requirements).

 

Domestic travel within Australia

Please be advised that various restrictions are in place across Australia which may impact your interstate travel. As these restrictions continue to change, we encourage guests to check the latest entry requirements for each State and Territory on their respective Government website that they may need to comply with prior to travel.
