• What is Virgin Australia Business Flyer?

  Virgin Australia Business Flyer is Virgin Australia’s free to join business travel and loyalty program for Australian businesses with a valid ABN, an Australian business address, and spend up to $500,000 in annual domestic air travel spend^. The business cannot be a travel agent, travel management company, travel wholesaler, air travel consolidator or anyone re-selling air travel.

  Businesses can access member-exclusive discounts^* on eligible Virgin Australia operated and marketed flights, and through our international airline partners^###. The business account earns Velocity Points on eligible Virgin Australia flights^** while travellers who are Velocity Frequent Flyer members continue to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits in a personal capacity when they fly with Virgin Australia^***.

• What is the difference between Velocity Frequent Flyer and Virgin Australia Business Flyer?

  Velocity Frequent Flyer is the loyalty program of Virgin Australia which rewards individual travellers when they fly with Virgin Australia and spend with our network of Partners as an individual.

  Virgin Australia Business Flyer is a separate loyalty program that rewards businesses with Velocity Points on airline spend with Virgin Australia as well as our network of business partners and international partner airlines. The program also provides members with access to exclusive discounts on eligible fares^*.

  Upon joining Virgin Australia Business Flyer, the business entity will automatically be signed up to the business loyalty component of the program to earn Velocity Points. Individuals are not required to have a personal Velocity Frequent Flyer membership for their business to be a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, however Velocity Points earned by the business may be redeemed by transferring these Points to an individual Velocity Frequent Flyer account⁺ of a nominated Key contact or directly employed or contracted individual of the business, or via direct redemption in the Business Booking Portal.

  Individual travellers who are existing Velocity Frequent Flyer members can earn Velocity Frequent Flyer Points in a personal capacity when they fly for work, provided their Velocity Frequent Flyer number has been added into their traveller profile within the Booking Portal^***. This can be done by the Key Account Holder, Account Administrator, or Booker.

• How can my business join, and is it free?

  Joining the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program is free to join and has no ongoing membership fees^{^}. To join, complete the online application form or give our team a call on 1300 301 928. It will only take a couple of minutes – just make sure you have your business’s ABN or ACN on-hand.

  If you usually book business travel through a travel agent, please also provide their details so that your business will earn Velocity Points for flights that they book on your behalf.

• How can I check if my business is already registered?

  To check if your business has an existing Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, please email us at businessflyer@virginaustralia.com or phone us on 1300 246 498 with your company name and ABN or ACN. 

• I own multiple businesses – do I need to register them separately?

  If you own multiple businesses with different ABN’s/ACN’s, you’ll need to register each business ABN/ACN as a separate Virgin Australia Business Flyer account.

• Can my business join if it isn’t registered for GST (Goods and services tax)?

  So long as your business has a valid and active ABN or ACN, you’ll be able to join. To sign up, complete the online  application form or give our team a call on 1300 301 928.

• Are there tax implications for my business joining?

  You should seek advice from a professional accountant or tax adviser to ensure you understand any possible tax implications related to your participation in the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program.
