Fly earlier (complimentary) β Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions contain important information you should be aware of.
1. Fly earlier (complimentary)
1.1 These terms and conditions apply and are accepted by you when you choose to use Fly earlier (complimentary) and are in addition to Virgin Australiaβs Conditions of Carriage, Terms of Use, Fare Rules and Privacy Policy. These terms and conditions apply in conjunction with the Seat Selection Terms and Conditions, Preferred Seating Terms and Conditions, or Economy X Terms and Conditions (whichever is relevant to the product eligible guests purchased).
1.2 Fly earlier (Complimentary) is offered to eligible guests by Virgin Australia (at its discretion) with a confirmed booking for a Virgin Australia marketed and operated domestic flight. When offered, eligible guests can voluntarily choose to change their flight to an earlier domestic service, operating on the same day, to the same destination as their original booking, free of charge.
1.3 Fly earlier (Complimentary) is not available on Virgin Australia marketed and operated short-haul international flights and Virgin Australia flights to Doha (operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia).
1.4 Fly earlier (Complimentary) will be offered subject to Virgin Australiaβs operational requirements on the day of travel, and seat availability on earlier flights. Even where seats are available on earlier flights, Virgin Australia may choose not to offer Fly earlier (Complimentary). The offer is controlled by Virgin Australia in its discretion.
1.5 Fly earlier (Complimentary) is a voluntary offering and can be declined by an eligible guest.
1.6 If an eligible guest chooses to use Fly earlier (Complimentary) for a booking which contains multiple guests, Fly earlier (Complimentary) will be applied for all eligible guests on the booking.
1.7 Guests may be offered direct or connection options subject to availability.
1.8 Fly earlier (Complimentary) will be offered by Virgin Australia to eligible guests via the Virgin Australia App. Guests must download the Virgin Australia App to receive any offers for Fly earlier (Complimentary)
1.9 If eligible guests experience any issues completing their change to an earlier flight, the guest will need to speak to a Virgin Australia team member via the Guest Contact Centre or at the airport.
1.10 Guests are eligible to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits at the rate of their original booking, not at the rate of their earlier flight selection.
2. Seat Selection
2.1 Eligible guests will be offered seating options subject to availability at the time Fly earlier (Complimentary) is offered. Eligible guests cannot be guaranteed the same cabin (if booked in Business) or paid seat selection as their original flight.
2.2 Where eligible guests originally purchased a fare in the Business cabin, the guest may be offered to move to an earlier flight where there are Business, Economy X or Economy seats available.
2.3 If eligible guests accept the Fly earlier (Complimentary) offer and select an earlier flight but do not select a seat, then a seat will be automatically assigned to the guest.
2.4 If eligible guests have chosen to accept the Fly earlier (Complimentary) offer but cannot select a seat, the guest is permitted to action this change but must see a staff member at the airport to ensure their seat is assigned and they are checked in on the new flight.
2.5 Eligible guests can view their assigned seat in the Virgin Australia App.
2.6 We will endeavour to accommodate your Economy seat selection. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be provided with your selected seat. We may change your seat at any time, even after you have boarded the aircraft for any reason, including for safety or operational reasons.Β
3. Changes, Downgrades and Refunds
3.1 Fly earlier (Complimentary) is a one-time offer, presented to the guest at the discretion of Virgin Australia.
3.2 Any changes after accepting the one-time offer, standard fare rules apply.
3.3 If eligible guests voluntarily select an earlier flight and a lower cabin class than what was originally purchased, eligible guests will not receive a refund of any difference in the fare price (unless they are entitled to a refund of their fare under the Australian Consumer Law).
3.4 Where eligible guests originally purchased paid seat selection in the Economy cabin, and does not select a seat in the same seat selection section on the earlier flight, eligible guests will not receive a refund.
3.5 If eligible guests travelling in Business class select an earlier flight in the Business cabin, catering is not guaranteed on the earlier flight, and will not make guests eligible for a refund.Β
4. General
4.1 You have certain rights under the Australian Consumer Law. These include Consumer Guarantees that the services we provide to you will be carried out by us with due care and skill, will be fit for purpose and will be supplied within a reasonable time. You may have rights to seek a remedy from us where we fail to provide services to you in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms and conditions affects those rights or any other statutory rights you may have under applicable laws (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot be excluded.
4.2 Virgin Australia may modify and change these terms and conditions from time to time. The terms and conditions which apply to your earlier flight are those in effect at the date of purchase, as published on our website.
4.3 The failure by Virgin Australia to exercise its rights will not be construed as a waiver or relinquishment of the future performance of any of its rights, and the guestβs obligations with respect to such future performance shall continue in full force and effect.
