Velocity Frequent Flyer raises credit card stakes in 100 Status Credit offer

Monday 26 October 2026: Velocity Frequent Flyer is giving Australians a head start towards their next Status milestone, with up to 100 Status Credits* available through some of the biggest Status Credit offers through a credit card in the program’s history.

Credit cards are one of several ways members can boost their Status Credit balance on the ground, alongside eligible shopping through Flybuys and Velocity’s exclusive Family Pooling benefit.

Velocity members can boost their balance with offers across three credit cards, including up to 100 Status Credits and 50,000 bonus Velocity Points with the American Express Velocity Platinum Card^. Members who link their Velocity membership to their Flybuys household account can earn up to 120 Status Credits per year on eligible purchases across Coles, Coles Online and Liquorland when they scan their linked Flybuys card^#.

Family Pooling

Velocity was the first Australian airline loyalty program to offer Family Pooling, allowing eligible family members at the same address to direct newly earned Points, or Points and Status Credits, to one member account with unlimited Status Credit earning potential^##.

Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO, Andrew Cleary said Velocity is committed to giving members more ways to progress towards Status without relying on flying alone.

Velocity members may earn Status Credits on eligible domestic and short haul international Virgin Australia flights (including Virgin Australia marketed and Link Airways operated flights or Virgin Australia marketed and Air New Zealand operated flights) based on fare type and the ‘All Inclusive Fare’. Velocity members will earn 1 Status Credit per $12 spent on eligible Virgin Australia Choice, Flex and Business ‘All Inclusive Fares’. If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can earn the standard Status Credit earn rate of (1) Status Credit per $100 (including GST) spent each calendar month in total across Coles, Coles Online, or Liquorland (both online and in-store) when you scan your Flybuys card at the time of purchase, up to a maximum of 10 Status Credits per calendar month. Standard Status Credit earn rate is based on spend from the day your accounts are linked. Please allow up to two weeks after the end of each calendar month for your standard Status Credits to be credited.

Spend excludes the purchase of gift cards, tobacco, tobacco related products, charity donations and delivery/service fees. Status Credits will be credited to the linked Velocity account as at the end of each calendar month. No part Status Credits will be allocated, only whole Status Credits per $100 spend. ^##Family Pooling

A Family Pool lets Family Members who live at the same residential address, transfer their Points, or Points and Status Credits, from up to 5 contributors to 1 beneficiary. All Family Members in the Family Pool must ensure that the same residential address is included in the relevant Velocity membership accounts when a Family Pool is created and maintained. To update your residential address, please log into your Velocity membership account and update your profile.

A beneficiary is the member that receives the Points, or Points and Status Credits, from the contributor(s) in the Family Pool.

A contributor is the member that chooses to pool newly earned Points, or Points and Status Credits into the beneficiary's account.

Some further Family Pooling rules:

Once a contributor has joined a Family Pool, all newly earned Points, or Points and Status Credits, will automatically be transferred on an ongoing basis to the beneficiary. Any existing Points and Status Credits at the time the contributor joined the Family Pool won't be transferred to the beneficiary.
A contributor cannot choose how many Points and Status Credits the beneficiary receives on a per transaction basis.
Any pooled Points and Status Credits are immediately transferred to the beneficiary's account and cannot be reversed to the contributor's account.
Pooled Points and Status Credits are deemed to be earned by the beneficiary through Family Pooling and form part of the beneficiary's Points and Status Credit balances. For this reason, Pooled Points and Status Credits are not earned by the contributor and do not form part of the contributor's Points and Status Credits balances.
The Status Credits earned by the beneficiary through Family Pooling do not count towards the minimum number of Status Credits the beneficiary must earn on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and/or operated flights flown by the beneficiary to upgrade or maintain Status.
If you're a contributor, you can start or stop contributing to a Family Pool at any time by logging into your Velocity account and accessing the Family Pool section.
A Family Pool can have up to 6 members at a time with only 2 members aged 18 years or over. If a third Family Pool member turns 18, they'll be automatically removed from the Family Pool.
In each calendar year, a contributor can only contribute to a maximum of 2 beneficiaries and only 1 beneficiary at the same time.
Upon our request, you may be required to demonstrate to our reasonable satisfaction that you have the same residential address as other Family Members in the Family Pool.
We can cancel a Family Pool (including automatically removing members from a Family Pool) at any time if the Family Pool doesn't comply with these Terms.
