3. Priority Benefits: Priority Benefits are available for Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members flying on Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights from selected airports. Priority Bag Drop is available at selected domestic airports and may be facilitated via an automatic bag drop or staffed service counters. Priority Screening is available at selected domestic airports during selected operating hours. Priority Boarding is available at selected domestic and international airports. International Priority Check-in is available at selected international airports. All benefits are subject to availability. 4. Fly Ahead (Fare type only): Fly Ahead is available to eligible guests who have purchased an Economy Flex fare (excluding group or team travel bookings), and up to three accompanying guests travelling on the same booking, on eligible domestic Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights. Fly Ahead requests may only be made on the day of travel via the Virgin Australia app or at the airport and are subject to seat availability and operational requirements. The requested earlier flight must be on the same route and same day as the guest’s original ticketed domestic Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight. Requests via the Virgin Australia app must be made at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure of the desired earlier flight, while the flight is still open for check-in. For flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, eligible guests may request a flight departing up to 2 hours prior to their booked flight. For all other eligible domestic Virgin Australia flights, guests may request the first available flight prior to their booked flight.  Requests at the airport must be made at least 40 minutes before scheduled departure of the desired earlier flight, while the flight is still open for check-in.  Guests cannot request Fly Ahead if they have already checked in their baggage. If a Fly Ahead request is granted, and the guest and any accompanying guests (if applicable) are moved to an earlier Virgin Australia flight and select a seat of a lower value than originally purchased, no refund will be provided (unless they are entitled to a refund under Australian Consumer Law). Standard Economy Flex fare conditions continue to apply to all other booking changes and cancellations. See the Fly Ahead on Flex Terms and Conditions for more information.

5. Velocity Points: From 2 April 2025, Velocity members may earn Velocity Points for eligible Virgin Australia domestic and international short haul flights (including flights operated by Link Airways and Alliance Airlines for Virgin Australia, Virgin Australia marketed and Link Airways operated flights, and Virgin Australia marketed and Air New Zealand operated flights) at the following rates: (i) 4 Base Points per $1 spent, and (ii) 5 Base Points per $1 spent if they are an eligible Velocity Points earning credit cardholder.

The ‘Base Points’ refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by a Red member when flying with Virgin Australia.

An eligible Velocity Points earning credit cardholder is a Velocity member who has a complete Velocity member profile (i.e., they can log into their Velocity account online and have provided us with all the necessary information to complete their profile) and has earned Points (as a primary credit cardholder) with their eligible Velocity Points earning credit card from spend in the 12 months prior to flying on the eligible Virgin Australia domestic and international short haul flight. Please note that the eligible Velocity Points earning credit card doesn't need to be active (i.e., it may be cancelled or expired) at the time of flying. A full list of eligible Velocity Points earning credit cards can be found here. Please note that Velocity reserves the right to update the list of eligible Velocity Points earning credit cards from time to time. Points are calculated on the 'all inclusive fare' price (in Australian dollars) which includes the base fare, taxes (including GST), fees and carrier charges. Points aren't earned on other fees, charges, and extras (e.g., seat selection, preferred seating, baggage charges, and credit card surcharges).

6. Velocity Status Credits: From 2 April 2025, Velocity members may earn Status Credits on eligible domestic and short haul international Virgin Australia flights (including Virgin Australia marketed and Link Airways operated flights or Virgin Australia marketed and Air New Zealand operated flights) based on fare type and the ‘All Inclusive Fare’. Velocity members will earn 1 Status Credit per $12 spent on eligible Virgin Australia Choice, Flex and Business ‘All Inclusive Fares’. Velocity members may earn 1 Status Credit per $24 spent on eligible Virgin Australia Lite ‘All Inclusive Fares’. The ‘All Inclusive Fare’ includes base fare, taxes (including GST), fees and carrier charges and excludes seat selection purchase and other extras, such as Economy X, Preferred Seating, Baggage Allowance or Climate Action. Status Credits will be rounded to the nearest whole Status Credit. Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Membership Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time. Your Status Credit balance is calculated daily based on the previous 12 months. Your Status Credit balance may fluctuate daily as new Status Credits are earned, and older Status Credits reach the end of their validity period. Your Forever Gold Status Credit balance is calculated separately and includes all Status Credits earned from 1 February 2013 onwards. To view your balances, visit My Velocity.

7. Fly Ahead (for Velocity only): Fly Ahead is available to Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold members, and up to 3 accompanying guests (in the same booking) to request, on the day of travel, when flying on eligible domestic Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights, subject to seat availability and operational requirements. Platinum Plus and Platinum members may request Fly Ahead when flying on Business, Economy Flex or Economy Choice fares, and Business or Economy Reward Seat fares, as well as Business Class upgrades. Gold members may request Fly Ahead when flying on Business or Economy Flex fares, and Business or Economy Reward Seat fares, as well as Business Class upgrades. Economy Lite, group or staff/team travel bookings are excluded. Additionally, Platinum Plus members may request Fly Ahead via the Priority Phone Service team, and Platinum members via the Guest Contact Centre. Requests via the Virgin Australia app, Guest Contact Centre or Priority Phone Service team, must be made at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure of the desired earlier flight. If a Fly Ahead request is granted and the member and any accompanying guests (if applicable) are moved to an earlier Virgin Australia flight in a lower fare type (including lower cabin class) than what was originally purchased, no refund will be provided (unless they are entitled to a refund under Australian Consumer Law). See the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions for more information on Fly Ahead.
