A complimentary service which displays the location of your checked bags when travelling on Virgin Australia operated flights.
Baggage tracking is available in the Virgin Australia app by enabling notifications in your app settings. Once enabled, push notifications will be sent when your bag has been prepped for travel, ready to fly, transferred to a connecting carrier, upon arrival at your destination advising which carousel your bag will be delivered and proactively, when your bag is delayed.
Baggage tracking is best experienced via the Virgin Australia app, as it allows you to be notified of updates via push notifications.
Baggage tracking is currently available on all domestic and international routes except Christmas and Cocos Islands. Please check your Virgin Australia app to see if your flight is eligible for bag tracking.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s an issue with your bag. It might have been missed during scanning or there might be an issue with your operating system. Please check the designated carousel upon arrival and if your bag is not there, see Baggage Services for assistance.

We can track your bag up until the point that it is handed over to the partner airline. We are not able to obtain bag data for any other airlines.
