Each year the Virgin Australia group of airlines receives many requests for assistance. As we only have limited resources available, it is unfortunate that we cannot support all applications. Only proposals that deliver commercial or community benefits that align with the direction of our airline progress to evaluation.

The Virgin Australia group of airlines has an established program of community and philanthropic partnerships, with a specific focus on indigenous Australians and youth at risk. Virgin Australia team members are actively involved in these partnerships, which include:
Surf Life Saving Australia
Virgin Australia has partnered with Surf Life Saving Australia to take their important surf safety messages to our international and domestic travellers. Surf Life Saving has been looking after beachgoers for more than 100 years through patrols, public safety campaigns, and education and training. We are proud to support SLSA by doing our part to remind all guests to swim between the red and yellow flags while enjoying Australia’s beautiful beaches.
Virgin Australia proudly supports the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) – a mentoring program that partners university students in one-to-one mentoring relationships with Indigenous Australian high school students.
Virgin Australia is a wish-granting partner of the Starlight Foundation – an Australian charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, throughout Australia. Virgin Australia flies Starlight children and their families across our domestic network to a range of popular tourist destinations.
Brisbane Youth Service
Virgin Australia team members are actively involved in supporting the Brisbane Youth Service via a six-month leadership program known as the Business Champions. The Brisbane Youth Service is a community-based organisation that works with homeless or at-risk young people, providing long-term assistance to help them understand their situation and make more positive choices.
Foodbank is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks and distributes food and grocery industry donations to welfare agencies which feed the hungry. Virgin Australia supports Foodbank nationally by helping to raise awareness of the charity and its aims and providing flights.
Virgin Australia is proud to partner with Service NSW, which was established by the NSW Government in 2013. The key objective of Service NSW is to make everyday government transactions more accessible to the general public, providing streamlined customer service across the digital channel www.service.nsw.gov.au the 13 77 88 call centre and more than a dozen service outlets across the state. Since launch, Service NSW has served close to three million customers with customer satisfaction rates tracking at 98 per cent. The partnership involves Virgin Australia sharing training materials, service framework and standards, employee engagement and cultural development activities to take Service NSW’s credentials to even greater heights. To date, Virgin Australia’s customer journey has been shared with more than 400 new Service NSW recruits with a further 150 due to benefit in the coming months.
Australian Football League
Virgin Australia is proud to be the Official Airline of the Australian Football League (AFL), supporting all AFL team flight requirements across Australia and abroad throughout the year. The AFL is one of the most popular sporting competitions in Australia, drawing its strength from more than 700,000 Australian members of AFL clubs each year.
The Gold Coast SUNS
As the clubs Official Airline and Sponsor, Virgin Australia takes great pride in supporting the Gold Coast SUNS – from match day presence at their home ground Metricon Stadium to support in the air, servicing all flight requirements and team travel logistics. National Basketball League
Virgin Australia proudly supports the National Basketball League (NBL) as Official Airline, ensuring all eight teams reach their destination during the 23 week season each year. Staged between October and April, the NBL is played in nine venues across regional and metropolitan Australia and New Zealand.
Women's National Basketball League
Virgin Australia is the Official Airline of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). Now in its 34th season, basketball fans can see all nine WNBL teams playing 24 home-and-away games across 19 rounds, running through to February.
Team Gardner Racing
Virgin Australia is the Official Airline Partner and Sponsor of Team Gardner Racing. Team Gardner Racing is a high performing Australian motorcycle riding family. The team consists of former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and touring car racer Wayne Gardner and his two sons Remy Gardner and Luca Gardner.

Australian Chamber Orchestra
Virgin Australia is proud to be the first ever Principal Partner of the ACO, one of the world’s most distinguished touring ensembles. As part of its National Concert Season, each year the ACO undertakes up to 10 National Tours, performing over 100 concerts across 8 cities for its 10,000 loyal subscribers. Virgin Australia was delighted to start 2013 as the National Tour Partner of the Tognetti’s Mozart tour and in 2014 presents Timeline - a “kaleidoscopic surge through 42,000 years of music, where life flashes before your ears” – touring across Australia from 19 May to 3 June.
Founded in 1975 and under the inspired leadership of Artistic Director Richard Tognetti AO since 1989, the ACO’s unique artistic style encompasses not only the masterworks of the classical repertoire, but innovative cross-artform projects and a vigorous commissioning program.

A Murder is Announced
Virgin Australia is proud to be the Official Airline Partner for the all-Australian production of A Murder is Announced, as Christie’s classic ‘whodunit’ featuring Miss Marple tours around the country commencing the season at Sydney Theatre. It is the fourth of twelve novels to feature the character of Miss Marple and the first of Christie’s works featuring the “sensibly heeled” sleuth on stage or screen. A stellar Australian cast including Judi Farr as Miss Marple bring Christie's 50th mystery to life in a critically acclaimed production. Following the success of the 2012 tour of The Mousetrap and due to strong public demand, this is the 2nd Agatha Christie performance Virgin Australia is supporting.

Virgin Australia is a proud sponsor of the exhibition Mapping our World. Mapping our World is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see rare and unique cartographic treasures from around the world. Discover how European explorers unravelled the secrets of the great south land.
Highlights of the exhibition include the magnificent Fra Mauro Map of the World; the remarkable Boke of Idrography presented to Henry VIII; an intricate world map by the Benedictine monk Andreas Walsperger (1448); a fifteenth-century Ptolemy manuscript; magnificent and controversial ‘Dieppe’ charts; one of only four surviving copies of Mercator’s groundbreaking 1569 projection, and original manuscript charts by Pacific navigators including Louis de Freycinet, James Cook and Matthew Flinders.
