How does my business earn Velocity Points on travel?
Every time you or your team fly on an eligible Virgin Australia flight^^, you’ll earn Velocity Points for the business**. If you are booking your business’ flights through the Virgin Australia website or app, include your business’s ABN in the booking to make sure you earn Points towards the Virgin Australia Business Flyer account.
An Eligible Flight is marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and includes the following fare types:
- Business
- Economy Flex
- Economy Choice
- Economy Lite

What is the maximum amount of Velocity Points my business can earn?
Your business can earn up to 1,000,000 Points from eligible Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights and eligible airline partners per annum, based on the rolling 12-month period from the date you joined the program. Points aren’t earned on certain fees, taxes or charges**.

Can employees and contractors employed by the business earn Points towards their individual Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts when they fly for work?
Anyone travelling for the business who is also a Velocity Frequent Flyer member can continue to earn Points and Status credits towards their personal Velocity Frequent Flyer account, so long as their Velocity Frequent Flyer number has been added into the booking***. This applies to all bookings made through the Booking Portal, the Virgin Australia website and app, and through a nominated Travel Agent.

How can I view the Points my business has earned?
You can view your business’s current Points balance in the Rewards Portal, or the Booking Portal.

How can I use the Points my business earns?
Once your business has a balance of at least 100 Points, they can be used to offset flight bookings~ or be gifted to your team by transferring Points from the business account to an individual Velocity Frequent Flyer account+. You can also choose to set up an auto-transfer to automatically transfer Points to a personal Velocity Frequent Flyer account when you hit your chosen Points threshold++.
The Rewards Portal is where you can manage the Points your business has earned.

What is the Business Rewards Portal?
The Rewards Portal is where you can manage the Points your business has earned as a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member. Any rewards you’ve received can also be managed here.
When your business joined the program, the Key Contact was sent an email with a link to activate the Rewards Portal. The activation link expires after 24 hours. If your link has expired, you can activate it through this link, or send an email to our team at businessflyer@virginaustralia.com.
Please be aware that only the Key Contacts and Account Administrators can access the Rewards Portal.
In the Rewards Portal, you can;
1. View the business’s Points balance, Points activity statement and membership tier
2. Manually transfer Points from the business to an individual Velocity Frequent Flyer member+, or set up an auto-transfer++
3. Raise a claim for missing Points
4. Allocate any Velocity Pilot Gold# or Velocity Gold memberships## your business received onto individual Velocity Frequent Flyer members
5. Allocate the Lounge Passes or Business Class upgrades your business may have chosen once the account reached Tier 2 or Tier 3 status.

Are the login details the same for the Booking Portal and the Rewards Portal?
As the Booking Portal and the Rewards Portal are two separate platforms, you’ll need to activate and set up login details separately.

How can I submit a claim if I haven’t received Points from flights?
If you believe the number of Points you’ve earned from an eligible Virgin Australia operated and marketed flight or through a partner airline is incorrect or missing, you must follow the steps below to submit a missing Points claim within the timeframes outlines below. We may not be able to help you with your claim if it isn’t made within these timeframes.
You can submit a claim for missing Points on all eligible flights flown;
- Up to 30 days before your business joined the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program
- Between 14 days and 6 months after your travel date.
Who Can Claim:
- Only Account Administrators of the account can raise a claim via the Rewards Portal.
- Your authorised Travel Management Company (TMC) or Travel Agent can also submit a claim for missing Points by emailing businessflyer@virginaustralia.com
How to submit a claim:
- In the Rewards Portal, select “Points” in the top menu bar, then select “Claim missing Points”
- Complete the mandatory fields on this page, then select “Submit”
- Your claim will be reviewed by one of our team members, and if approved, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
Important for Travel Agents:
If you are submitting a claim on behalf of a client via email, please include all the following details in your email to ensure we can process the claim quickly:
- Airline flown
- Flight number
- Origin (departure airport)
- Destination (arrival airport)
- Departure date (must be between 14 days and 6 months after your travel date)
- eTicket number (795 ticket number)
- Passenger first name
- Passenger surname
- Virgin Australia Booking reference number (PNR)

If an employee leaves the business, can they retain the Points that were transferred to them from the business?
Yes - once Points earned by the business have been transferred to a Velocity Frequent Flyer account+ they cannot be re-claimed by the business.
