We’re updating our carry-on baggage allowance.

From 2 February 2026, we’re making changes designed to improve overhead locker management to reduce delays, enhance safety for guests and crew, and give everyone a smoother start to their journey.

Flying before 2 February 2026?

Economy

Guests travelling in Economy Class, including Velocity Red or Silver members:

  • may bring one carry-on option for the overhead locker (up to 8kg total)
  • plus one personal item.

One standard bag

Carry-on baggage main item

L56cm x W36cm x H23cm

Plus, a personal item

Carry-on personal item
  • Your carry-on allowance includes bringing one small personal item into the cabin. 
  • It must be small enough to fit under the seat in front of you.

Maximum dimensions: L45cm × W33cm × H20cm

Examples include:

  • Purse or handbag
  • Laptop bag or camera bag
  • Small backpack
  • Hand carried item (e.g. reading material).
Velocity Red and Silver members receive the standard Economy carry-on allowance.

Business, selected Velocity members & Economy X

Guests travelling in Business Class, Economy X or holding a Velocity Gold, Platinum or Platinum Plus membership:

  • may bring one of the below carry-on options (up to 14kg combined weight)
  • plus one personal item.

  • It must be small enough to fit under the seat in front of you.

  • Hand carried item (e.g. reading material).

Please note: no additional carry-on baggage allowance is granted to Red or Silver Velocity members.

Important information

Children and infants

Infant essentials

Adults travelling with an infant may bring one additional small personal item free of charge.

This item must fit under the seat in front of you and not exceed L45cm × W33cm × H20cm.

Infant essential items may include:

  • Baby milk (including breast milk)
  • Sterilised water or juice
  • Baby food in liquid, gel or paste form
  • Nappies and disposable wipes

Prams and Strollers

Guests may also bring a stroller into the cabin and fits within the carry-on size limit (L56cm × W36cm × H23cm, max 8kg).

  • In this case, it replaces one adult’s standard carry-on bag. 
  • If larger, it can be checked free of charge at the gate. 

*Strollers must remain collapsed for the entire flight. 

Guests are still entitled to check up to three infant items free of charge as checked baggage.

Child comfort items

Products such as Plane Pal, Fly Tot and JetKids BedBox are permitted for in-cabin use if they comply with our Guidelines for Use. These items count toward your carry-on allowance. See more under Travelling with Children.
