* Velocity Points earn: When flying on Qatar Airways-operated flights, Velocity members will earn a Base Points amount that is calculated based on the fare type originally purchased and number of miles flown. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by all Velocity members when flying on Qatar Airways-operated flights. Velocity Points cannot be earned on all fare types. Velocity Points can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed, and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. Velocity Points accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments. Domestic flights booked within an International journey will accrue Velocity Points at the earn level for international flights. Members travelling on upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Velocity Points based on original purchased fare type.
* Status Credit earn: When flying on eligible Qatar Airways operated flights, Velocity members will earn Status Credits based on the fare type originally purchased and the number of miles flown. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare types. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed, and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. ^ The Points required for a Reward Seat will be based on the total miles for all sectors in a one way journey, except where there is a break in the journey. Where there is a break in the journey, the Points required is calculated on a per sector basis. A break in the journey includes: (a) a stopover, which means: (i) in an Australian domestic itinerary, a break of journey at an intermediate point when onward travel does not take place on the same calendar day; and (ii) for all other itineraries, including those containing a domestic to international connecting flight, when a passenger arrives at an intermediate point and is not scheduled to depart within 24 hours of arrival; (b) a change in class of travel within the journey; (c) a change in operating airline where the airlines are located in different Reward Seat Points tables; or (d) a Virgin Australia long haul international itinerary connects to a Virgin Australia domestic flight. For Reward Seat bookings where a Virgin Australia flight between Australia and Doha connects with a Qatar Airways flight as part of the same booking, this will not be considered as a trip break and the minimum number of Points required to book outlined above will apply.
~ Virgin Australia’s flights will all include the QSuite configuration by default. The aircraft will only switch to a non-QSuite fitted aircraft if operationally required.
1 International lounge access to Qatar Airways owned and operated lounges and third-partner lounges are available when travelling in Business Class or guests who are a Velocity Gold and Platinum status members when travelling on a QR operated flight. 2 Tier Bonus Points refers to the additional number of Points (beyond the Base Points) that can be earned by a Silver, Gold or Platinum member when flying on all fare types excluding Lite with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion of the Base Points earned, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).  If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion the number of miles flown on the Virgin Australia flight, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).
