Each year the Virgin Australia group of airlines receives many requests for assistance. As we only have limited resources available, it is unfortunate that we cannot support all applications. Only proposals that deliver commercial or community benefits that align with the direction of our airline progress to evaluation.

The Virgin Australia group of airlines has an established program of community and philanthropic partnerships, with a specific focus on indigenous Australians and youth at risk. Virgin Australia team members are actively involved in these partnerships, which include:
Surf Life Saving Australia
Virgin Australia has partnered with Surf Life Saving Australia to take their important surf safety messages to our international and domestic travellers. Surf Life Saving has been looking after beachgoers for more than 100 years through patrols, public safety campaigns, and education and training. We are proud to support SLSA by doing our part to remind all guests to swim between the red and yellow flags while enjoying Australia’s beautiful beaches.
Virgin Australia proudly supports the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) – a mentoring program that partners university students in one-to-one mentoring relationships with Indigenous Australian high school students.
Virgin Australia is a wish-granting partner of the Starlight Foundation – an Australian charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, throughout Australia. Virgin Australia flies Starlight children and their families across our domestic network to a range of popular tourist destinations.
Brisbane Youth Service
Virgin Australia team members are actively involved in supporting the Brisbane Youth Service via a six-month leadership program known as the Business Champions. The Brisbane Youth Service is a community-based organisation that works with homeless or at-risk young people, providing long-term assistance to help them understand their situation and make more positive choices.
Foodbank is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks and distributes food and grocery industry donations to welfare agencies which feed the hungry. Virgin Australia supports Foodbank nationally by helping to raise awareness of the charity and its aims and providing flights.
Virgin Australia supports Service NSW by sharing training materials, service framework and standards, employee engagement and cultural development activities to elevate Service NSW’s credentials to even greater heights. To date, Virgin Australia’s customer journey has been shared with more than 800 new Service NSW recruits.
The Walking Wounded
Virgin Australia proudly supports The Walking Wounded, a not-for-profit organisation committed to assisting the physical and psychological rehabilitation of returned Australian soldiers. The foundation's aim is to ensure a safe and healthy integration of wounded veterans back into the civilian community, through a range of support and counselling services.
Layne Beachley’s AIM for the Stars
Layne Beachley's Aim for the Stars Foundation (AFTS) provides financial and mentoring support to girls and women across Australia to help them achieve their dreams in academic, sport, business, environmental and community pursuits. Virgin Australia flies all scholarship recipients to Sydney to attend the mentoring program.
Channel 7 West Australian Telethon
Telethon is a West Australian based, registered charitable trust that provides financial support to the medical and social welfare of children and young people, and to fund research into children’s diseases. Virgin Australia is a proud supporter of Telethon, flying Seven Network Artists from the East Coast to Perth for the annual fundraising event.
Australian Air Force Cadets
The Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC) is the nation’s leading community-based youth development organisation. The AAFC seeks to stimulate young Australians’ interests in both the Air Force and aviation in general, while providing them with outstanding opportunities to develop their personal and team qualities within a military setting. Virgin Australia will fly the cadets around the network during their 75th anniversary year as their platinum sponsor.
Australian Football League
Virgin Australia is proud to be the Official Airline of the Australian Football League (AFL), supporting all AFL team flight requirements across Australia and abroad throughout the year. The AFL is one of the most popular sporting competitions in Australia, drawing its strength from more than 700,000 Australian members of AFL clubs each year.
The Gold Coast SUNS
As the club's Official Airline and Sponsor, Virgin Australia takes great pride in supporting the Gold Coast SUNS – from match day presence at their home ground Metricon Stadium, to support in the air, servicing all flight requirements and team travel logistics.

Biennale of Sydney
Virgin Australia has been supporting Biennale of Sydney since 2012 as their airline partner helping to provide flights for Artists to present at the Biennale. The Biennale of Sydney is one of the leading international art festivals in the country recognised for commissioning and presenting provocative, thought-provoking art from Australia and around the world. Established in 1973 it is largest and best-attended contemporary visual arts event showcasing the work of over 1,700 artists from over 100 countries.
BoS20 will present a three-month exhibition starting from 19th March until 5 June 2016, with accompanying program of artist talks, performances, forums, guided tours and other special events all of which are open to the public for free. Jurassic World: The Exhibition
Virgin Australia is delighted to be the Official Airline Partner of the world premiere event of Jurassic World: The Exhibition. Based on one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history, the Exhibition immerses audiences in scenes inspired by the film. The exhibition features encounters with realistic, life-size animatronic dinosaurs set in highly themed environments.
Palaeontologist Jack Horner, who served as a Paleontological Advisor on the Jurassic World film, is working with the exhibition to create an interactive educational experience, allowing guests of all ages to learn more about these incredible prehistoric creatures.
