b. The TOU applies in addition to any other terms and conditions applicable to a booking made using your Future Flight credit, including but not limited to:
i. Virgin Australia’s Conditions of Carriage
ii. Future Credit fare rules
iii. Travel Bank Terms and Conditions (for customers who are eligible to receive a Travel Bank for their Future Flight credit)
iv. Virgin Australia’s Group booking terms and conditions (if you are using your Future Flight credit to make a booking with our Group Booking department.
c. Defined terms in these TOU have the same meaning as set out in the Virgin Australia Conditions of Carriage, unless otherwise stated.
a. Virgin Australia has established the Future Flight credit program in connection with its voluntary administration process undertaken in 2020. Customers eligible to receive a Future Flight credit include:
i. certain customers with flights or holiday package bookings made prior to 20 April 2020 that have been cancelled;
ii. customers holding Travel Bank credits issued prior to 20 April 2020; and
iii. customers with a claim for monetary expenses in connection with a flight or holiday package booking made prior to 20 April 2020.
b. You will be notified by Virgin Australia if you are entitled to receive a Future Flight credit. If you have any questions as to your eligibility for a Future Flight credit, please contact the Virgin Australia Guest Contact Centre on 13 67 89 (if calling from within Australia) or +61 7 3295 2296 (if calling from outside of Australia).
c. Your Future Flight credit will be provided to the first adult listed in the cancelled booking unless the booking is a corporate booking or a Group Booking, in which case the Future Flight credit will be provided to the named organiser of your booking.
a. Future Flight credits are valid until 31 July 2022 for travel up to 30 June 2023. Any unused Future Flight credits will expire at 11:59pm AEST on 31 July 2022 (Expiry Date) unless otherwise extended by Virgin Australia in its discretion.
a. Specific fares called Future Credit fares will be available for customers who wish to use their Future Flight credits to book flights .
b. Future Credit fares will be subject to the Future Credit fare rules, which are available on the Virgin Australia website here.
c. Future Credit fares will be presented to you either online when you enter in your Travel Bank number for your Future Flight credit (for customers whose original fare was booked directly with Virgin Australia), when you call our Guest Contact Centre or when you book through your travel agent.
d. While there are seats available for booking using a Future Flight credits on all Virgin Australia operated flights, the number of seats available for Future Credit fares is limited and may sell out quickly so we recommend you book early. In the event Future Credit fares for your preferred flight are sold out, you can select another travel date or you can pay for your flight using another form of payment (such as Velocity Points, a Standard credit or your credit/debit card).
a. Future Flight credits may be used to pay entirely or partially for the following Virgin Australia services and products:
A. Future Credit fares for flights operated by Virgin Australia and selected flights operated by Alliance Airlines on behalf of Virgin Australia to and from Brisbane;
B. Fare and tax differences on flight booking changes;
C. Change fees on flight bookings;
D. Economy X fees;
E. Excess baggage fees;
F. Carbon Offset fees;
G. Lounge passes
b. Future Flight credits cannot be used to purchase any other Virgin Australia products or services, including Velocity Frequent Flyer Reward Seat or Any Seat bookings and are unable to be redeemed on codeshare flights or flights operated by other airlines, with the exception of selected flights operated by Alliance Airlines on behalf of Virgin Australia to and from Brisbane.
c. Future Flight credits can be used to make bookings for Eligible Travel for travellers other than the person named as the holder of the Future Flight credit.
a. If you made your original booking (for which you received your Future Flight credit) through a travel agent, a travel management company or a Group Booking organiser, you must contact that third party to use your Future Flight credit.
b. If you made your original booking (for which you received your Future Flight credit) directly with Virgin Australia (either online through the Virgin Australia website or via our Guest Contact Centre), you can use your Future Flight credit to make a booking by either:
i. Visiting www.virginaustralia.com, search for your flight and select the option to pay using Travel Bank before you continue to available flights. The website will display the Future Credit fares available for booking using your Future Flight credit.
ii. Visiting Manage My Booking to purchase Virgin Australia flight extras after a booking is made.
iii. Contacting the Guest Contact Centre on 13 67 89 (if calling from within Australia) or +61 7 3295 2296 (if calling from outside of Australia).
a. The information below sets out the specific rules that apply to the cancellation by you or by us of Eligible Travel bookings purchased with Future Flight credits.
b. In the event you cancel a booking made using your Future Flight credit (as full or partial payment) and your Future Credit fare rules permit a cancellation, we will provide you with a new Future Flight credit for the amount you paid for your fare and flight extras, less any applicable cancellation fees. You will not be entitled to receive cash refunds or other forms of travel credits. Please refer to the Future Credit fare rules.
c. In the event we cancel a booking made using your Future Flight credit (as full or partial payment), we will provide you with a new Future Flight credit for the amount you paid for your fare and any flight extras. In the event you request a refund to your original form of payment for any amount paid using your credit or debit card or Velocity Points, this amount will be deducted from the value of your new Future Flight Credit.
d. These TOU apply in addition to other legal rights and obligations you and we may have under Applicable Laws, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
