Our promise to you

One thing we’ve learned over the past few years? Things don’t always go to plan. So, to give you peace of mind while travelling with us, you can change your domestic flight, fee-free for bookings and travel up to 30 Apr 22, and change your international flight fee-free for travel up to 31 Dec 22 when you book by 30 Jun 22*

*Change without a fee on domestic routes for bookings made and travel up to 30 April 2022 and international routes for bookings made on or prior to 30 June 2022 for travel up to 31 December 2022. Changes must be made prior to your travel date. Fare differences may apply. Cancellations with refund to other forms of payment as per fare rules. Full terms and conditions here.

The finer details

Your options for changing or cancelling will depend on when you booked and when you’re travelling. Also, Velocity Reward and Any Seat Bookings have different flexibility and route options (head to Velocity website for more information).

If you booked on or before 20 April 2020 and your travel is on or before 30 April 2022, we’ll waive any applicable change fees if you want to change your booking.

If you have already cancelled your flight or your flight  has been cancelled by Virgin Australia 

If you have already cancelled your flight or your flight has been cancelled by Virgin Australia and you have not been reaccommodated onto a future flight, your Future Flight credit has been applied automatically, and there is no action for you to take.

Where your flight is cancelled for any reason, you are eligible for a Future Flight credit.

Please note, any change and cancellation fees payable in accordance with the fare rules applicable to your booking will apply from 1 May 2022.

If you have already cancelled your flight or your flight has been cancelled by Virgin Australia and you have not been reaccommodated onto a future flight, you will be issued a Standard credit in the form of a Travel Bank.

International Long Haul travel and travel to/from Tonga, Rarotonga and Port Moresby

Guests are not permitted to make changes to these bookings. If you hold a booking for International Long Haul travel (including travel to/from Tonga, Rarotonga and Port Moresby), please contact our Guest Contact Centre or your Travel Agent for further information.

Do you have credits to use?

We are extending the expiry date of Future Flight credits and standard credits which are due to expire before 30 January 2023. Your credits will be available to make bookings until 31 January 2023, and can be used for travel up to 27 December 2023. If your credit is stored in a Travel Bank, it will be updated individually and we anticipate this will be completed prior to 6 May 2022.

 

How to change or cancel your booking

Most importantly, make sure you cancel or change your booking before your departure date – otherwise normal fare rules will apply after that date.

If you booked through a travel agent or another website like Webjet, you’ll need to contact them directly to change or cancel your flight.

If you booked with us directly, here’s what you can do.
