Sydney like a Local with Pip Edwards

It’s a very Sydney hang out. Drinking beers, coupled with some surf n turf, in the sun, by the water… I couldn't think of anything better!

Home to stunning natural wonders and a vibrant cultural landscape, the sparkling metropolis hosts a multitude of things to see, do and experience.

To help you make the most of your time in the Harbour City, we have enlisted style doyenne, Pip Edwards to give you a rundown of her favourite local haunts.

Discover Sydney with a little help from one of Australia’s most formative trendsetters  Ksubi and sass & bide alumni and current General Pants Co Design Director  Pip Edwards.

Breakfast

Flat White in Woollahra is hands down the best café in Sydney for breakfast. They’re famous for their awesome selection of eggsan all-day breakfast fix!

Lunch

The Shop on Curlewis Street in Bondi Beach. Their salads and sambos are to die for, not to mention their meatballs. Yum!

Dinner

Right now my favourite dinner spot is definitely Porch and Parlour on Ramsgate Avenue in North Bondi. It’s a super cute and intimate café-bar, with a wholesome and tasty menu. The food, the drinks, the vibe, the staff and the service are so good, it’s easy to feel right at home.

Drink

I love to have a wine at 10 William Street in Paddington, or a sunset cocktail at Bondi’s Icebergs Dining Bar and Restaurantit’s a long-standing favourite of mine. The Anchor is another one of my favourite local Bondi bars. The South Side cocktail gets me every time. I also love Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. It’s got that relaxed pub vibe, but is right on Sydney Harbour. It’s a very Sydney hang out. Drinking beers, coupled with some surf n turf, in the sun, by the water… I couldn't think of anything better!

Relax

I absolutely love to hang out at Bondi Icebergs pool, sauna and gym. It has the ultimate view of one of the best beaches in the world, and is the ultimate place to be during summer. I also love to hang out at Milk Beach in Vaucluse and Redleaf–Seven Shillings Beach in Point Piper. They’re both very secluded, magical beaches right on Sydney Harbour.

Sight

I hope I'm not being too Bondi centric, but the Bondi to Bronte Coastal walk is a must! In fact I do it every weekend and love it every time. Similarly, the Spit to Manly walk is as equally amazing.

Shop

My favourite shopping streets are The Intersection and William Street in Paddington and Gould Street in Bondi. I frequent a few stores regularly: Land’s End, Parlour X, Ksubi and The Corner Shop in Paddington, Tuchuzy in Bondi, General Pants in Bondi Junction, and Harrolds in Westfield in the City.

Designer

It’s really hard for me to pinpoint my favourite local designer. There are just so many talented local creatives, from Josh Goot, to Ksubi, to Ellery, to Dion Lee… the list could go on and on. Our home-grown designers are the best!
