Changes to Unaccompanied Minor (UMNR) Bookings

To ensure the highest level of care, Virgin Australia only accepts a limited number of bookings for Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR) on Virgin Australia direct domestic and international short-haul flights.

Please note, UMNR’s are not accepted on international long-haul and codeshare flights.

The Unaccompanied Minor (UMNR) form must be completed for each UMNR travelling and signed by the child’s Parent/Legal Guardian to be presented at check-in for each flight. The name and signature must match the details recorded in the booking.

The UMNR will be required to show proof of age on request at check-in. A birth certificate, birth extract or passport is suitable for identification for an Unaccompanied Minor. Boarding may be refused if this is not provided.

The person escorting the child on departure and meeting the child at arrival must provide photographic identification which must be identical to the name printed on the Unaccompanied Minor form. If photo identification is not available, then three forms of other government or financial institution issued ID must be provided (Medicare card, credit card, debit card, etc.).

For more information on UNMR bookings, please visit the Children Travelling Alone page on the Virgin Australia website.
