Velocity Points Upgrades Now Available On Delta Air Lines

Virgin Australia is pleased to announce that Velocity Frequent Flyer members can now upgrade their cabin using Velocity Points on eligible Delta Air Lines (DL) flights with a Virgin Australia (VA) flight number.

Eligible International Long Haul* flight upgrades are available into Premium Reward Class (R Class) and Business Reward Class (O Class) for Platinum and Gold Velocity Frequent Flyer members on DL operated flights with a VA flight number.

Eligible International Short Haul^ and USA Domestic upgrades are available into Business Class (O) for all Velocity Frequent Flyer members on DL operated flights with a VA flight number.

Some important information to note:

• Upgrades are only available on select VA coded DL operated flights#.
• Upgrades are only available for Virgin Australia Getaway, Elevate or Freedom fare brands.
• Upgrades can only be requested via the Velocity Membership Contact Centre and upgrades will be confirmed at time of call if available.
• Waitlisting for an upgrade is not available, upgrades will be confirmed at time of call if available.
• Upgrades can be completed at time of booking or any time up until 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time.
• Upgrades are subject to Reward Seat availability.
• Upgraded segment changes and cancellations will follow original fare rules and upgraded segment change will incur an additional fee of A$35 or 4,500 Velocity Points (i.e. Upgrade Amendment fee).
• Upgrade EMDs will be forfeited for changes inside 72 hours prior to travel.
• Agents must add the SSR ‘UPGR’ to each upgraded segment.
• Members will earn Points and Status Credits based on the original fare class purchased.
• Platinum Complimentary Upgrades are not available on DL operated flights.
• Upgrades are not available from DL Economy or Premium Economy Reward Seats.
