Extra Legroom Conditions of Sale

General
Extra Legroom seating is located in the over-wing exit row on Virgin Australia Boeing 737 and Embraer E190 Aircraft.

Accordingly, if you want to sit in an Extra Legroom seat, you must meet our safety requirements which are described below.

Safety requirements
To be seated in a Extra Legroom seat, you must:

A boarding pass for Extra Legroom seating will only be issued once our Ground Staff confirm that you meet the safety requirements described above.  This important safety requirement means that you will not be able to use Web, Kiosk or Mobile Check-in if you have purchased an Extra Legroom seat.

Virgin Australia does not guarantee particular seats, even if your reservation is confirmed.  We commit that if you have pre-purchased Extra Legroom seating, subject to aircraft type*, operational and safety requirements, we will seat you in an exit row seat.  In the rare instances that we are unable to accommodate you in an Extra Legroom seating, we will credit you the Extra Legroom fee paid#.

*Extra Legroom  is not available on Embraer E170 Aircraft or flights operated by Codeshare partners.  Extra Legroom is not available in Business or Premium Economy class as this cabin already features premium seats that offer extra personal space and comfort.

#Credits are non-refundable and must be used within 12 months from the date of first booking by contacting the Guest Contact Centre, applicable Guest Contact Centre rates apply.

If you can no longer meet the safety requirements
If your circumstances change and you subsequently cannot meet the above safety requirements, please call the Guest Contact Centre prior to travel to remove the Extra Legroom reservation.  You will receive a credit# for your Extra Legrrom fee.

How much?
Our Extra Legroom seats are available between $10-$175^, per person per sector, based on your origin and destination. The exact price will be displayed at time of booking.

^ Fee is per person, one way, for each sector in the applicable booking currency of country of origin or purchase.  Flights sold as connections are charged per sector of the connecting service, and charged in the applicable booking currency of country of origin or purchase.

Example:
If you wish to travel in an Extra Legroom seat  on a journey from Brisbane to Perth, travelling via Adelaide, the total fees will be determined by the fee payable for Brisbane to Adelaide ($40) and the fee payable for Adelaide to Perth ($40), with a total of $80 payable for Extra Legroom seating on your journey.

Velocity Points
You cannot redeem your Velocity Points for Extra Legroom seating, and you will not earn Velocity Points on the amount paid for Extra Legroom seating.

Booking changes
Extra Legroom fees are non transferable.

Cancellations and Changes to flight bookings with Extra Legroom seating may be made via the Guest Contact Centre, in accordance with the Fare Rules associated with the flight booking and Fare Rule fees will apply, as at the date of making the change or cancellation. Bookings with Extra Legroom seating cannot be changed or cancelled online.

Flight changes made from a direct to connecting flights will attract a new Extra Legroom fee applicable for the additional sector within the connection, as set out above. This fee will be payable at the time of the change.

In the event of change from a connecting to a direct flight, excess Extra Legroom fees can be used to offset change fees or issued with a credit^

If Extra Legroom seating is unavailable on the changed flight, the Guest Contact Centre will issue a credit^ in the amount of the Extra Legroom fee.
