Our architecturally designed lounges are the perfect environment to catch up on work, socialise or relax in comfort. Full business services are available including complimentary WIFI access, meeting rooms and access to a suite of the latest news publications and magazines.

Extended Lounge Network

International lounge access at selected ports is available to Velocity Platinum and Gold members and International Long Haul Business Class guests. Virgin Australia Lounge Members may access selected third-party lounges prior to Trans-Tasman departures on flights operated by Virgin Australia.

Complimentary Food and Beverages

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are on us, with a wide selection of options available at the buffet. The menu changes fortnightly and rotates throughout our lounges. Wake up with freshly ground barista made coffee available all day. Treat yourself to quality snacks and cold drinks at any time of the day. Relax and unwind with your choice of boutique premium wines and beers on tap, available from 11am daily.

Dedicated Check-in and Service Desk

Guests travelling with carry-on baggage only can bypass the queues and check-in at the Virgin Australia Lounge. Virgin Australia team members will be able to assist and complete any check-in or flight changes.

Please ensure you check-in at least 30 minutes prior to your flight departure. For flight or booking changes, please see a Virgin Australia team member at a Priority Check-in counter on arrival into Alice Springs or Wellington Airport.

Velocity Platinum and Gold members, partner airline reciprocal status members, Business Class and ‘The Business’ guests benefit from a more streamlined and fast-tracked security screen and entry process with exclusive access to:

  • Brisbane and Sydney Premium Entry (when travelling with carry-on baggage only)
  • Melbourne Premium Exit and Priority Screening security lane

Virgin Australia Lounge Lifetime members also have access to Lounge Premium Entry in Sydney and Brisbane.

    Bathroom Facilities

    Shower facilities are available in our lounges. Please see a team member at reception or at the service desk for complimentary towels and amenities. Enjoy a little extra luxury with high quality, natural, scientifically formulated and environmentally sustainable skincare products created by Hunter Lab. Baby change tables and disabled toilet facilities are also available in our lounges.

    Sustainability

    To help reduce Virgin Australia’s impact on the environment, all Virgin Australia lounges now have Zip taps. Zip taps are fitted with sparkling water, hot water and still water on tap; this change will save over 250,000kg CO2-e emissions.

Alternatively, phone the Virgin Australia Lounge team on 1300 287 202. For immediate access to the lounge after purchasing, simply download your digital card. Instructions are located on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.

Lounge membership may also be purchased at any Virgin Australia Domestic Lounge reception.

Velocity Frequent Flyer, Business Class Guests and Lounge Members

Velocity Platinum and Gold members, Virgin Australia business class guests and Virgin Australia Lounge Members are welcome to invite family, loved ones or a friend into the Virgin Australia lounges. The table below lists the access and accompanying guests available, however for further information on individual lounge locations please see the Locations tab.

Where children are permitted access to the lounge, a child is classified as between 4 – 17 years old domestically and 2 - 12 years old (inclusive) internationally.

Eligible members of Virgin Australia’s partner airlines can access the Virgin Australia owned and operated domestic lounges when travelling on an eligible Virgin Australia domestic departure.

Partner airline members are to refer to their airline’s loyalty program’s website for information on their airline’s lounge network.

Lounge Experience Passes

Velocity Silver, Red and Non-members travelling on Virgin Australia operated flights can purchase a Lounge Experience Pass prior to arrival at the airport via Manage Your Booking for $55. The Lounge Experience Passes are available for the following Lounges:

Single Entry Passes

Velocity Silver, Red and Non-members with a valid Virgin Australia boarding pass travelling on a Virgin Australia operated flight can purchase a Single Entry Pass to the Lounge on the day of travel for $65. Single Entry Passes are purchased at lounge reception and are available 2 hours prior to flight departure.

Single Entry Passes are available for domestic lounges only and does not include partner or international lounges. Single Entry Passes are subject to lounge capacity and availability at the time of purchase.

Opening Hours 

The Virgin Australia Lounge is open seven days a week from 60 minutes prior to our first flight departure until our last flight is called for boarding. The Virgin Australia Lounges in Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney open from 90 minutes to the first flight departure until the last flight is called for boarding.

The Virgin Australia Perth Terminal 2 lounge is open Monday to Friday.
