Virgin Blue Announces “Happy 1 st Birthday Jetstar” Sale

1 Million And 1 Seats From $28* - More For Less

Hot on the heels of today’s unveiling of Virgin Blue’s interim financial results, the airline has announced it will launch a “Happy 1 st Birthday Jetstar” sale with 1 million and 1 seats up for grabs from $28* one way on the net.

In line with its successful campaign for airlines to advertise all inclusive fares, the price takes in fees and charges, including airport charges, fuel levy, global security charge and GST, with great service and smiles thrown in for free.

The fare will allow Guests to enjoy the convenience of an assigned leather seat with legroom comparable to Qantas in our distinctive red jets.

Virgin Blue’s Chief Executive Officer, Brett Godfrey, said, “ As Australia’s second largest airline and leading low fare carrier, only Virgin Blue offers travellers great value fares, award winning service and an unrivalled extensive nation-wide network from Broome to Brisbane and beyond.”

“We operate in a fiercely competitive aviation environment and we believe this competition is a great thing for consumers who have reaped the benefits of Virgin Blue’s efforts to “keep the air fair”. We very much appreciate and acknowledge the strong and loyal support Virgin Blue has received from the travelling public.”

He continued, “We recognise Jetstar’s 1 st birthday offer of 1-million fares and to celebrate its birthday, we will raise the number of fares available by 1 and lower the lead-in fare price by $1.”

The Virgin Blue “Happy 1 st Birthday Jetstar” fares are on sale from now until midnight 25 May 2005 on selected routes for travel between 1 June 2005 to 15 December 2005.

* Fares are one way on the net, or $10 more by phone. A credit card surcharge of an additional $2 per person per one way flight is applicable. Fares are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights or peak days. Fares are on sale from now until the earlier of 25 May 2005 or until sold out.
