Virgin Australia operates flights to Auckland every day, from Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Melbourne. Together with our partner Air New Zealand, we also offer flight to Auckland from Adelaide.

Auckland Airport Information

Auckland Airport is located in Mangere, 21km from Auckland City and 12km from Manukau City. The airport can be accessed by various transport options, including:

• Car Hire: Receive mates’ rates when you choose from a great choice of hire cars from our car partners.
• Taxi: Taxi ranks are located outside the arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal. Taxis can be pre-booked or caught from the terminal rank. Fares from the airport into the city cost approx. NZ$60–$80 (one-way).
• Bus: Regular bus services connect the airport to the city centre and several other local centres. Services include: The Airbus Express, Manukau 380 and MAXX.

A free inter-terminal bus operates every 15 minutes between the international and domestic terminals. The bus operates from 5am to 10:30pm daily. Alternatively, guests can walk between the airports in 10 minutes.

For a one-stop shopping experience drop into retail giant, Westfield (Queen Street and Newmarket). Take a scenic Saturday morning drive to the popular Otara Markets for a rich insight into New Zealand’s Polynesian influences, and pick through lanes of art, food, vintage and clothing stalls.

Sample the country’s Polynesian influences and fresh local produce with a relaxed Sunday stroll through the Avondale Markets. Soak in the city’s cosmopolitan vibe on Ponsonby Road. Book a table at one of Viaduct Harbour’s 30 plus restaurants. Don’t stop short at the harbour’s entrance, explore past the bridge to North Wharf for a scenic dining setting. Take in dinner with a view from Sky City’s iconic Sky Tower – the tallest free-standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere. Or catch the ferry to Devonport and drop into the village’s acclaimed cafes, bakeries and chocolatiers.

Viaduct Harbour has a plethora of bars, alongside a comprehensive choice of eateries. Auckland’s newest shopping district the Britomart Precinct has a great selection of bars and cafes all within a few blocks.
