Removed from the hustle and bustle of Australian airports, the Virgin Australia lounge is a secluded pre-flight haven. Featuring a great selection of complimentary benefits – such as a Luke Mangan designed buffet menu, premium wines, business services, news and entertainment – our lounges are stylish and practical spaces, designed to cater to our guests’ moods and purposes.

Please note: Effective 15th of August 2012, Velocity Frequent Flyer Gold and Platinum members will require a same-day boarding pass for Virgin Australia or one of our airline partners in order to access the Virgin Australia lounge. All other lounge access entitlements still apply.

Extended Lounge Network

Virgin Australia lounge members enjoy reciprocal access to Air New Zealand lounges prior to Trans Tasman and domestic New Zealand flight departures^^⁺.

International lounge access at selected ports is also available to Velocity Platinum and Gold members and international long haul Business Class guests.

Dedicated Check-in

Spend more time relaxing. Guests travelling with carry-on baggage only can bypass the queues and check in at the Virgin Australia lounge.

Velocity Platinum and Gold members, partner airline reciprocal status members, and Business Class and Premium Economy guests benefit from a more streamlined and fast-tracked security screening and entry process with exclusive access to:

• Sydney lounge Premium Entry and Premium Valet – when travelling with carry-on baggage only
• Melbourne Priority Screening security lane
• Express Entry priority queue in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane lounge receptions

Virgin Australia lounge Lifetime members also have access to Sydney lounge Premium Entry.

Flight Information and Services

Large flight information display screens show departures and arrivals information, and boarding announcements are made by Virgin Australia team members.

For assistance with flight changes, seat allocations and general information please talk to a Virgin Australia team member or visit our dedicated service desks – available at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane lounges.

Complimentary Food and Beverages

Stop in and enjoy barista coffee^. Treat yourself to quality snacks and cold drinks at any time of the day. Stay a little longer and enjoy our Luke Mangan designed breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets – the menu changes monthly, and rotates throughout our lounges. Or relax and unwind with your choice of boutique premium wines and refreshing ales, available from 11.00am daily.

Bathroom Facilities

Shower facilities are available in our lounges^. Please see a team member at reception or at the service desk for complimentary towels and amenities. Enjoy a little extra luxury with beautiful "orglamic" Australian made and owned skincare products by GROWN – available in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane bathrooms and showers. Baby change tables and disabled toilet facilities are also available in our lounges^.

Private Meeting Rooms

Selected Virgin Australia lounges have private meeting rooms that are available for hire seven days a week, during lounge opening hours.

Meeting rooms can be booked by Velocity Platinum and Gold members and Virgin Australia lounge members. Rates are listed below, and are inclusive of food and beverages:

Entry to the Virgin Australia lounge

Located at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Mackay and Gold Coast domestic airports, the Virgin Australia lounge is open seven days a week – from 45 minutes prior to our first flight departure, until our last flight is called for boarding.

Note: Access to the Virgin Australia lounge is for eligible members and guests travelling on onward domestic Virgin Australia flights or Trans Tasman Air New Zealand flights. Access is not available when travelling internationally with Virgin Australia, and is subject to Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge rules.

Members

If you are a Virgin Australia lounge member or Velocity Platinum or Gold member, present your membership card and your flight itinerary (or boarding pass) – for onward domestic travel with Virgin Australia on the day – for access to the Virgin Australia lounge.

Subject to space availability, Velocity Platinum and Gold members can access the Virgin Australia lounge on arrival with an eligible day of travel Virgin Australia or partner airline itinerary (or boarding pass).

Lifetime lounge members and Velocity Platinum and Gold members can also access the lounge via Self Service Entry, which are located in the reception of each lounge. Simply tap or swipe your card and follow the prompts for streamlined lounge entry.

Virgin Australia international long haul Business Class guests and Velocity Platinum and Gold Members can access selected international airport lounge locations operated by airline partners when travelling internationally.

Introducing the Virgin Australia lounge Membership Card

To make your membership more easily identifiable, and streamline your access to Virgin Australia domestic lounges when flying on our network and when enjoying reciprocal access to selected Air New Zealand lounges, we have introduced the Virgin Australia lounge membership card.

To ensure that you receive your lounge membership card, log into your Velocity account and confirm that your postal address is up to date.

Note: The new Virgin Australia lounge membership card does not replace the Velocity membership card, which is used to access other Velocity Benefits.

Members’ Guests

Virgin Australia lounge members and Velocity Gold members may invite one accompanying guest to the Virgin Australia lounge at no charge. Guests do not need to be travelling with Virgin Australia to join members. Additional guests will be charged $65 at the lounge reception.

Velocity Platinum members may be accompanied by up to three guests at no charge.

Children

Children, under 18 years of age, are welcome in the Virgin Australia lounge, but must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.

Virgin Australia lounge and Velocity Platinum and Gold members, can bring up to two children aged three to 12 years – in addition to their guest allowance – into the lounge at no cost. There is no charge for infants two years of age and under.

Fast-tracked Access for Premium Guests

Virgin Australia Business Class guests, Velocity Platinum and Gold members, and partner airline reciprocal status members receive complimentary access to the Virgin Australia lounge, and benefit from a more streamlined, fast-tracked security screening and entry process at selected airports:

• Sydney lounge Premium Entry and Premium Valet – when travelling with carry-on baggage only
• Melbourne Priority Screening security lane
• Express Entry priority queue in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane lounge receptions

Virgin Australia lounge Lifetime members also have access to Sydney lounge Premium Entry

Access to Air New Zealand contract lounges in Adelaide and Perth for Velocity Platinum and Gold members and Virgin Australia lounge members is not available.
• Air New Zealand lounge access is not permitted when flying on flights other than flights between Australia and New Zealand, i.e. flights to the Pacific Islands, Bali and Papua New Guinea.
• Eligible members and guests will be given applicable documentation to enter regional Koru lounges at the Air New Zealand check-in counters in these ports.

Virgin Australia international long haul Business Class guests and Velocity Platinum and Gold members can access selected international airport lounge locations operated by airline partners when travelling internationally.

Single Entry lounge passes can only be purchased, at a cost of $65 at the Virgin Australia lounge reception, by lounge members and Velocity Platinum and Gold members, when bringing additional guests beyond their existing allocation into the lounge. Single Entry is subject to capacity.

Note: A Single Entry (including Single Entry that is provided to Velocity Silver members on achieving and maintaining Silver Status) is not valid for international lounge entry and cannot be used when flying internationally with Virgin Australia, or at partner airline lounges. Note: These changes do not impact Silver member lounge vouchers allocated upon upgrade to or maintenance of Silver membership.
