06/06/2013

Virgin Australia today announced that from October this year, it will operate its award-winning1 Airbus A330 service on all Perth-Sydney weekday flights.

The introduction of a seventh Airbus A330 to Virgin Australia’s fleet later this year will see these aircraft operate all Perth-Sydney and Perth-Melbourne weekday services and two out of three Perth-Brisbane weekday services.
The airline now offers all customers on flights between Perth and the East Coast fully inclusive hot meals and beverages, as well as in-flight entertainment.

Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer Judith Crompton said: “Over the past couple of years, we have completely transformed our offering in Western Australia, including expanding our network and frequencies, and enhancing our in-flight service, lounge and terminal facilities.

“Virgin Australia now offers 76 codeshare destinations from Perth, with one-stop services to 14 destinations in Europe, as well as the widest passenger (Regular Passenger Transport) network in the state of Western Australia, flying to more destinations than any other airline.

“We have had an extremely positive response to the introduction of our Airbus A330 “Coast To Coast” service and we are very pleased to now be offering this on all Perth-Sydney and Perth-Melbourne weekday flights.

“These significant enhancements, together with the launch of our new state-of-the-art domestic pier at Perth Airport next year, will see Virgin Australia lift the standard of air travel in Western Australia to the next level”, Ms Crompton said.

The Airbus A330 aircraft feature Virgin Australia’s designer Business and Economy Class product, which includes luxury leather seating, generous seat recline and a range of gourmet food offerings.

Virgin Australia offers competitive airfares on the Perth-Sydney route with fares starting from as little as $239 one-way2. The new Airbus A330 service will go on sale in the next few weeks.
