PACIFIC BLUE BRINGS BALI CLOSER FOR KIWIS!
Tuesday 31 March 2009. Christchurch, New Zealand: Kiwis now have more choice than ever to take a break in Bali after Pacific Blue confirmed a significant increase in flights to the exotic Indonesian holiday destination.
Pacific Blue will begin new direct services from Melbourne (3 per week) and Sydney (2 per week) to the Balinese island gateway of Denpasar from Monday 1 June 2009. The announcement comes after the airline launched its inaugural flights to Bali just three months ago from Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Pacific Blue General Manager Commercial, Adrian Hamilton-Manns, said there was strong demand from the New Zealand public and travel industry for an affordable and consistent service to Bali.
“We’ve been offering a few connecting services a week from New Zealand since last year but these new direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney allow us to offer even more choice to the New Zealand market.”
Mr Hamilton-Manns said that Bali was a well-known destination for both Australian and New Zealand holidaymakers and the new direct services from Australia mean that Kiwis will now be able to hop over the Tasman and onwards to Bali with Pacific Blue on 17 one-stop connecting flights each week.
Auckland - Bali: Daily one-stop flights.
Wellington - Bali: Five one-stop flights per week. (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday)
Christchurch - Bali: Five one-stop flights per week. (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Fares start from $499* one way on the Internet from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. (* Plus $4 credit card fee per person per one-way flight – $15 more for phone bookings. Subject to availability.)
Mr Hamilton-Manns added, “Kiwis enjoy relaxed holidays in the sun and are also avid travellers to Asia so Bali offers the best of both. We’re very pleased to be bringing low fares and a strong schedule to what has previously been an underserved market for New Zealanders.”
