VIRGIN BLUE ANNOUNCES NEW BALI FLIGHTS & HOLIDAY DEALS
Friday 27 March 2009, Brisbane, Australia: Virgin Blue Airlines Group has announced it will increase its services to Bali from Monday 1 June, introducing two brand new routes, one direct from Sydney and the other from Melbourne to the Balinese island gateway of Denpasar.
Pacific Blue will also ramp up its direct flights from Adelaide to Bali from twice weekly to three times a week. The announcement comes after the airline launched its inaugural flights to Bali just three months ago from Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Virgin Blue Group Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, said, “Bali has traditionally been a popular destination for Australian’s and we have seen strong connecting traffic from Melbourne and Sydney so the next obvious step was to put on direct services.”
He continued, “We are pleased to be offering more convenient flying options from other key capital city destinations and providing another airline choice for people to fly to Bali on. Once we launch the new flights, Pacific Blue will offer direct flights from more Australian cities than any other airline”.
Pacific Blue is offering a special fare of $299* for direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney on sale from now until Midnight Sunday 29th March 2009 (or until sold out) for travel 01 June 2009 to 25 June 2009, and 25 July to 31 August 2009.

Pacific Blue services have already proved to be a stimulus for travel to Bali with statistics showing Australian travellers recorded the highest visitor numbers for the month of January, edging out Japan and Korea as the country bringing the most number of people to Bali. In January, Australia recorded 27,873^ visitors arriving in Bali, ahead of 25,324 for visitors from Japan.
Brett Godfrey added, “Indonesia was Pacific Blue’s first foray in to the Asian region and its close proximity to Australia is a big drawcard for people keen to take a “mini-break” without breaking the bank. Holiday package prices are at the lowest they have been for two decades so it is providing ideal opportunities for some great deals, not just in the air but also on arrival in Bali.”
Blue Holidays currently has some hot deals to Bali offering exceptional value, including a package which includes return flights from Australia to Bali (inclusive of taxes) and five nights staying at the beautiful Novotel Nusa Dua in Bali, starting from $898.00 per person twin share.
