Checked Baggage rules for international short haul bookings made before 16 May 2012

Note: The Baggage Piece Policy applies to bookings that have been created or changed after 10.00am AEST on 16 May 2012.

Check-in Limits

Baggage allowance according to fare type and Velocity membership level:

A 23kg checked baggage allowance can be purchased online or for $40.00 at the airport.

Additional Information

Checked baggage that exceeds a guest's allowance (in accordance with the table above) will attract excess baggage fees, and will only be accepted and loaded onboard at our discretion.
Each piece of checked in baggage must not weigh more than 32kg, or exceed 140cm in total linear dimension (length + width + height).
Baggage pieces heavier than 32kg each must be sent as Freight. Guests should contact Freight Services on 13 15 06 before arriving at the airport. Baggage pieces that are larger than the total linear dimensions may be accepted as oversized baggage, provided they do not exceed the oversized items limits.

Included Baggage Allowance

The following guests are not required to purchase a checked baggage allowance:

Velocity Platinum, Gold and Silver members
Flexi, Premium Economy and Business fare holders
Guests flying on services operated by Skywest Airlines

Excess Baggage

Excess baggage is charged per kilogram (kg), or part thereof, for all guests (including Velocity members). Excess baggage charge details are as follows:

*Excess baggage will be charged at AUD 20.00 per kilogram for flights departing Australia for Thailand.

We cannot guarantee that additional baggage will be carried. This is at our sole discretion and is subject to aircraft loads.
