If you book car hire through our website – with one of our preferred car hire suppliers – and on the same day you find a lower publicly-available online retail rate – with the exact same booking conditions, with the same supplier – we will match it and give you 1,000 bonus Velocity Points; plus a voucher for a free day of rental, or a free upgrade, to use towards your next car hire with that supplier.
Claims must be made by midnight (AEST) on the same day you receive your confirmation email in relation to your car hire booking on Virginaustralia.com/cars.
To make a claim you must have a confirmed and current booking, made through the Virgin Australia website, with one of our car hire partners.
To claim:
A) Screen shot the website that shows the lower publicly-available Internet rate. Note: The rate MUST be in direct relation to (and the screen shot must show) the same car hire, with the same rental conditions, through the same supplier.
B) Email pricepromise@virginaustralia.com with the following details:
Your details: First Name, Last Name, Mailing Address, Email Address, Phone Number and Velocity Membership Number
Your nominated bank account details for refund of price difference: Account Name, BSB and Account Number
Claim information: Name of Competitor, Competitors Website Address, Competitors Lower Price and Date
Attach Virgin Australia Car Hire booking confirmation email
Upload competitor screen shot (in gif or jpg format)
C) Email Virgin Australia by midnight (AEST) the same day you receive your car hire booking confirmation email.
Note: Both the screen shot and car hire booking confirmation must be attached to the email. All required information must be provided or your claim will be deemed invalid.
Once you submit your claim, we will endeavour to notify you within 10 working days as to whether your claim qualifies for the Price Promise.
*For Hertz, Thrifty or Europcar bookings you will receive a direct deposit for the monetary difference between the rate for your booking on Virginaustralia.com/cars and the lower matched rate. The direct deposit will be paid in $AU to the bank account provided in the claim email, within 30 days after car drop-off. If the booking was made in another currency, the amount to be paid will be converted into $AU using the currency conversion rate shown on Reuters.

The Price Promise is only available with our preferred partners: Thrifty, Hertz and Europcar, and for rentals within Australia and New Zealand.
The Price Promise does not apply to cancelled bookings or travel agent, corporate or membership rates.
A Price Promise claim must be based on a like-for-like comparison between the retail rate provided through the Virgin Australia website and the retail rate provided online by the same supplier (Thrifty, Hertz or Europcar) with the exact same rental conditions.

If you are comparing discounted or promotional rates, the exact same discount or promotion must be included on the supplier’s site to form the basis of a valid claim. The vehicle at the lower price must be available online for instant confirmation. Claims must be made by midnight (AEST) on the same day you receive your confirmation email in relation to your car hire booking on Virginaustralia.com/cars. The Price Promise may be revised, amended, updated, and/or discontinued by providing 14 days prior notice. Changes will be made and updated online. Claims submitted after the expiry of the 14 day notice period shall be subject to the amended Price Promise terms and conditions.
