Virgin Blue Congratulates Virgin Atlantic On Oz Flight Plan21/06/2005
Virgin Blue Airlines today congratulated its sister carrier, London based Virgin Atlantic Airways, on its announcement that it has secured rights to begin flights from the UK to Australia from 8 December 2004.
Virgin Group’s award winning International long haul carrier, Virgin Atlantic, confirmed plans to launch services between Hong Kong and Sydney, following successful negotiations between UK, Hong Kong and Australian authorities. The airline currently flies daily from London to the Asian hub.
Virgin Blue spokesperson Amanda Bolger said, “This is fantastic news for International travellers wanting to experience the hugely popular Virgin Atlantic way of long haul travel and we welcome the arrival of yet another Virgin product in to the Australian market”.
She continued, “It will be great for people to have another airline option between London and Hong Kong to Australia. Virgin Blue is widely recognised as the customer service leader in the short haul domestic Australian market and Pacific Blue is a relatively new but already competitive player in the Trans Tasman market. We have no doubt that Virgin Atlantic’s leading long haul service will appeal to those travelling the 22 hours to the UK.”
Both Virgin Blue and Virgin Atlantic are award winning airlines that have set new and innovative standards in their respective markets with a clear focus on staying true to the Virgin Group philosophies of challenging established players, providing outstanding and friendly service as well as value for money and fun.
