Pacific Blue Announces Direct Sydney-Fiji Flights08/05/2005
Fiji Tourism Set To Benefit From More Services
Pacific Blue (Australia) Pty Ltd has confirmed it will launch new direct flights between Sydney and Nadi four times a week from Monday 27 June 2005 to compliment its existing flights between Melbourne-Nadi and Brisbane-Nadi which began in September last year.
The move to include Sydney in the Fiji route network follows the ongoing success of the Melbourne and Brisbane services and is also in response to market demand for direct flights between the NSW capital and Pacific playground.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive Brett Godfrey said, “Pacific Blue is a very strong and enthusiastic supporter of Fiji and we are happy to be providing a stimulus for the sustainable development of tourism in Fiji which has experienced a boost since we launched our high quality services with a range of affordable fares.”
Pacific Blue has been buoyed by the strong support it has received from both Australian and Fijian travellers who have enjoyed the low fares that come with having another airline providing true competition in the South Pacific region.
Fares between Sydney and Nadi on Pacific Blue will start from AUD $159* one-way on the Internet plus taxes, fees and surcharges of AUD $90*.
“We are very much looking forward to expanding our services between Fiji and Australia and look forward to enlisting the support of all parties to achieve more low fares and increased tourism for the South Pacific region”, Brett Godfrey finished.
* Fares are one way on the net, or $10 more by phone. A credit card surcharge of an additional $2 per person per one way flight is applicable. Taxes, fees and surcharges are correct as at 7 March 2005, and are subject to change.
