Get set for Carnival fun in the beautiful Southern Queensland Country city of Toowoomba from 19 to 28 September. Now in its 65th year, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is the longest-running floral event of its kind in Australia and is the premiere celebration of flowers, food, wine, culture, entertainment and all things spring.
With a vibrant street parade, fascinating gardens and floral displays, fabulous food, wonderful wine, awe-inspiring art, imaginative interactive workshops and exceptional entertainment, visitors travel from all over Australia to share in the festivities.
During the 10 days of Carnival the colourful competition gardens of Toowoomba are on display for everybody to enjoy. Visitors may select from daily morning and afternoon guided garden tours or self-drive around these magnificent home gardens.
The Grand Central Floral Parade is the only fresh floral parade of its kind in Australia. This year’s parade, starting at 3.00pm on 20 September, promises to be a great day with spectacular floral floats, stilt walkers, local and visiting bands, walking groups and entertainers making their way through the CBD with true parade fanfare.
Part of Carnival, the three day Ergon Energy Flower, Food and Wine Festival will be held in beautiful Queens Park from 19 to 21 September. The festival features nightly entertainment as part of the Heritage Bank Live Concert Series. If you love gourmet food, great local wines, magnificent floral displays and top-class live music, this is a festival not to be missed.
Other attractions held over the 10 days of Carnival include a selection of day and evening ‘Foodie’ tours, Twilight Tours of the city’s beautiful parks, Sideshow Alley, Kids Day Out, free movies at Pictures in the Park, Parkland Entertainment and more.
