Held in January at the Queensland Tennis Centre since 2009, Brisbane International has always been the traditional warm-up tournament for many of the top seeded players of the Australian Open. Previous champions of the tournament have included world Number 1′s Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka and even Aussie fan favourites Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt! In fact, at the 2014 edition of the Tournament, Aussie veteran, Hewitt caused one of the upsets of the year by defeating Swiss master, Roger Federer (making his inaugural appearance) in the Final and claiming his first title on home soil since 2005!
What’s in store for 2015 is anyone’s guess, but what you can be sure of is eight days of electrifying tennis. Be there court side to witness the passion, the drive, the courage and determination as the stars of the sport stake their claim on the Brisbane International trophies!
