Pacific Blue domestic on-time performance off to a flying start in 201019/02/2010
Friday 19 February 2010: Pacific Blue’s domestic on-time performance is off to a flying start for the new year with 94.9% domestic OTP recorded in January.
Pacific Blue CEO, Mark Pitt, said the figure was another strong result for the airline.
“January is always a busy month and while there were a few days with early morning fog the airline continued to deliver its Guests on time, more of the time.”
In 2009 Pacific Blue achieved an average monthly domestic OTP of 92.3%.
“Great on-time performance continues to be a focus for the airline and we will be striving this year to equal or better last year’s positive result,” said Mr Pitt.
Pacific Blue was the first New Zealand domestic airline to publicly report its on-time performance figures and has been publishing the data regularly on its website since July 2009, with data going back to January 2009.
On-time is counted as flights that depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. Pacific Blue makes no exceptions for bad weather, air traffic control, delays from suppliers, unscheduled maintenance, consequences of previous delays or anything else.
