Virgin Australia is again changing the face of the Australian aviation landscape. This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in shaping the evolution of this iconic brand, and to become a part of a dynamic company that genuinely believes and demonstrates our people are our greatest asset.

There are many Graduate Programs available, but none as unique as ours. We recognise that the success of our company depends upon the service we offer and the care and concern we show our Guests and our People. We are relying on the combined skills and efforts of our existing and future team members to build the success of our airline, the sheer diversity of what we do and the excitement and challenge of the airline industry create numerous opportunities for a rewarding and challenging start to your career. As a graduate with Virgin Australia we are committed to offering you a one of a kind, challenging and exciting experience in an environment where your contribution and ideas are welcomed. Our Graduate Programs are all about you realising your potential through your experience.

The purpose of the 2 year program is to give you exposure to a broad spectrum of the business, and consists of four, five month rotations (approximately) within your business areas and areas of interest and includes a guest facing placement. You will be provided with opportunities to network, understand interrelationships and develop skills and knowledge to give you a solid foundation as a future leader of Virgin Australia. The success of the program is measured on your placement into an area of interest following the program, ongoing retention and succession into a leadership role.

To set you up for success, each graduate successful in joining the program will be assigned the following:

Graduate Leader

Throughout the two year program, you will have a Graduate Leader to assist and support you through your Graduate Program. The Graduate Leader has the following accountabilities -

  • To oversee your Graduate Program and ensure you get the learning experiences you need;
  • To provide mentoring, support, advice and direction;
  • To debrief/pre-brief rotations and learning opportunities;
  • To share knowledge and feedback and to encourage networking; and
  • To help you find a permanent role within our business

Your Graduate Leader will be a Manager from the business within the area of your Graduate Program.

Rotation Manager

For each rotation you will have a Rotation Manager who is responsible for your day-to-day work activity. They will be responsible for setting your work, your rotation objectives and identifying areas for development and other training. They will also provide guidance and feedback and conduct a formal performance review with you at the end of your rotation.

Buddy

Your buddy is likely to be a graduate from a previous year who will help you settle into ‘working life’ and provide you with support and advice throughout the program. Your buddy can also help you link into our broader Graduate network.
