Virgin Australia is progressively rolling out Wireless In-flight Entertainment across its domestic and international short haul fleet.
This state-of-the-art system provides you with access to hundreds of hours of movies, TV shows and music, all available on your own device. Wireless In-flight Entertainment is offered on selected flights operated by equipped Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
To access the system you need to follow a few simple steps before your flight#:
Apple iPad® / iPhone® / iPod touch® and Android™ devices:
- Download Virgin Australia's free In-flight Entertainment App from the App StoreSM or Google Play™ Store:
- Once you’ve downloaded the App, activate it by opening the App on your device while connected to the internet. You must have activated the App before you fly, otherwise the App won’t load on board.
- From time to time Virgin Australia will release free updates to the App, and your device will receive a notification from the App Store or Google Play Store. Keeping your App up-to-date will allow you to access the latest content and functionality when on board.
Laptops with Microsoft® Silverlight®:
Check that your laptop has the correct version of Microsoft Silverlight by loading the test page while connected to the internet.
Once you’ve completed the steps above, make sure your device is fully charged and don't forget your headphones. For information about connecting to the Wireless In-flight Entertainment system on board your flight, refer to the Virgin Australia Voyeur magazine located in your seat pocket.
#The Virgin Australia Entertainment Apps for Android devices work with selected phones and tablets using the Android operating system versions 3.2 Honeycomb, 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and 4.2 Jelly Bean. Windows phones and tablets are currently not supported on the Wireless In-flight Entertainment system. Virgin Australia is working to increase the availability of the system on additional devices.
The aircraft operating your flight may change without notice. In the event of an aircraft change, we are unable to guarantee that your aircraft will be equipped with Wireless In-flight Entertainment. We apologise for any inconvenience.
